Achievements and Trophies
Complete Silent Hill 3 in 3 Hours or Less.
The best way to get this achievement / trophy is to go for the UFO ending. The game will end about half way through the entire storyline and can easily be done in about an hour.
You don’t even have to save! The only things you have to worry about is dying from the subway train at a mandatory spot and falling down any holes in the otherworld parts.
Playing on both easy difficulties will help out a lot. Easy Riddle Difficulty will cut down the exploration time.
Go for the Coolest. Dad. Ever., Adrenaline Junkie, Ninja, and Makes My Head Hurt achievements / trophies all at once.
Defeat Leonard in under 3 Minutes.
Leonard’s only attack is a melee swing of his arms. Deal enough damage and he’ll fall under the water and swim around the area. When he’s under the water, you can start kicking him. Don’t kick for too long because he’ll get back up and start swinging. The weaker he is, the more kicks he can take. Keep on him as he gets up, swims, and gets back up until he dies.
Defeat God in under 8 Minutes.
God only has two or three attacks, making it easy to develop a strategy from trial and error. The first two are basic melee attacks. It will swipe its claw straight out at you, which can cover a pretty long distance. The other melee attack is a headbutt.
Of course, you can keep your distance with firearms, but it has one other attack up its sleeve. God can make fire run through the small arena you’re battling in. If you stick to the furthers area from God, moving left to right or vice versa will usually keep you away from the flames. Moving inward will make the flames follow you and bring you in for a melee attack.
To defeat God you must weaken it and lower its head. There are two ways to force it to lower its head. You can either shoot it to force it to lower its head, or you can melee attack it when its hip starts jutting outward. Do not try to melee attack it at any other time.
Once the head is down, attack with either a melee attack or firearms. Your melee attacks will leave you open to its melee attacks, and firearms will cause it to use its fire attack.
Use whatever you have to take it down in the same fashion over and over.
Unlock the “UFO” Ending.
To unlock this ending you must beat the game at least once to unlock the Heather Beam, and defeat AT LEAST 30 enemies before you arrive at the Daisy Villa Apartments with the Heather Beam or Sexy Beam.
Defeat Missionary in under 2 Minutes.
Do not take Missionary lightly. This guy will block your fire arm shots from the front with its sword like hands. Of course, the hands aren’t for blocking only. Missionary will run at you and attack with these sharp hands, causing massive damage. Trying to run away while he’s chasing you will not work. Instead, allow him to start the attack, then run away before it lands. Get directly behind him when he starts the attack to deal some damage of your own.
Acquire the Flamethrower.
This weapon is only obtained after beating the game under special conditions. You must defeat more enemies with firearms than with melee attacks; or have already unlocked the Beam Saber. You can then find it in a new game on the counter of the bakery in the Central Square Shopping Mall.
Acquire the Unlimited Submachine Gun.
This weapon can only be obtained after beating the game at least once. To unlock it you must defeat the final boss (God) using a melee weapon for the final blow.
There are many items found throughout Silent Hill 3. Search all rooms and pick up all you can. Don’t be afraid to pick up items, your inventory will not fill up.
Unlock all trophies in Silent Hill 3.
Unlock the Heather Beam.
To unlock it, you must kill 333 monsters — cumulative, not in one game. Once unlocked you will have it from the start of your next playthrough.
Unlock the “Normal” Ending.
It’s nearly impossible to miss the Normal Ending on your first play through. For a sure fire way to unlock it, don’t kill every monster you see and Do Not Forgive the woman in the confessional.
Unlock the “Possessed” Ending.
In order to unlock this ending, you need to earn a certain amount of points through doing in game actions. Killing enemies, taking damage, and the confessional are all ways to earn points.
Kill a ton of monsters. If you see a monster, kill it! Receive a ton of damage, but don’t die! Forgive the woman in the confessional When Douglas is injured, don’t return to check on himDefeat Memory of Alessa in under 3 Minutes.
Memory of Alessa is quite a tough boss. She will come at you four different times with four different weapons. She first comes as you with a Knife, then a Handgun, then a Steel Pipe, and lastly a Submachine Gun.
Each time Alessa attacks, she will come straight up to you for a melee attack, even if she’s using a firearm. This does not mean Alessa will not use the firearms at range. If she does use a firearm from afar, use the horses on the carousel to put a buffer between you and her.
Unfortunately, while Alessa is walking up for a melee attack, she will not be open for attack. She will use the block technique to block all damage you do, including shots from firearms. Either try and get behind Alessa to deal some damage, or wait until she’s about to melee attack for an open shot. If you don’t use a Shotgun or Submachine Gun, you will most likely get hit by her attack while you hit her. Remember, the Bulletproof Vest will cut down the damage.

Defeat Split Worm in under 2 Minutes.
Split Worm is a pretty simple boss. He will move in and out of one of six holes in the area. Three holes will be on one side and three holes will be on the other.
Keep your eyes open and use the Handgun when it opens up its mouth. The mouth is the weak point of the beast. Firing at the unexposed mouth will do no damage at all.
Acquire the Beam Saber.
This weapon is only obtained after beating the game at least once under special conditions. You must defeat more enemies with melee attacks than with firearms; or have already acquired the Flamethrower in the previous game.
The Beam Saber is found disguised as a doorknob at the end of a hall in the Central Square Shopping Mall. The hall is where you first encounter a Numb Body, just past the room where you find the bookstore key.
Defeat 75 enemies by fighting in SH3.
This is a much easier achievement / trophy than one would think. You can shoot an enemy until it falls on the ground, then kick it once or twice to kill it off. That kick will count as a kill by fighting.
Defeat 75 enemies by shooting in SH3.
This achievement / trophy will be a lot harder than most think. You cannot drop an enemy with a firearm and kill it with a kick. If you do, that will count as a kill by fighting. Instead, you have to shoot it while it’s down until it finally dies. You can save ammo by injuring it with a melee weapon, then finishing it off with a firearm. The Unlimited Submachine Gun can help out a lot on a second playthrough. While firing, aim downward to kill the monster on the ground.
Acquire the Silencer.
You can find the Silencer hidden in the Construction Site in the room with the mattress you drop down a hole. Look for a section of wall that the camera will focus on as you walk past it. Examine the wall and you will be told it appears weak. Strike it with a melee weapon and it will crumble, revealing the Silencer.
Acquire the Gold and Silver Pipes.
In the sewer, before you throw the dryer in the water examine the pool. You will be asked if you want to throw the steel pipe in the water; do so. (You must NOT have the pipe equipped as a weapon, or you will not get this prompt.) Answer the questions honestly, and you will receive both the GOLD and SILVER pipes as a reward.
Equip the Princess Heart Costume.
The Transform Costume is one of the costumes available in the Extra New Game in Silent Hill 3.
