The first route towards the Indigo Plateau is Route 22. You probably have come here before. Last time you visited, your Rival challenged you to a Pokemon battle before a single badge was earned. Now that all eight badges are in your possession, it’s time for a rematch.

Your rival’s team will be nearly complete. Be ready for an incredibly tough battle, and don’t forget to play to their weaknesses. Use special electric or ice attacks against Pidgeot, physical attacks (preferably bug) against Alakazam, special water or grass attacks against Rhyhorn, special electric attacks against Gyarados, ground and rock attacks will work well against Growlithe, and Exeggcute is weak to flying and bug-type attacks. Since bug-type attacks are hard to come by, fire and ice attacks are another fine option.
