Status Conditions
Battling would be incredibly bland if all you had to worry about was power, speed, and defense. Luckily, there a much deeper strategic element with various Status Conditions. Below is a list of various status conditions, their effects, and how they can be cured. Only one condition can be inflicted at a time, with the exception of confusion. Confusion can be inflicted in addition to the others.
Condition | Effect | Cure |

Burned (BRN) | This condition lowers the attack stat of the affected Pokemon by 50%. It also reduces the affected Pokemon’s HP by 1/8th (12.5%) of their max HP each turn. | Burn Heal or Full Heal |
Poisoned (PSN) | This condition reduces the affected Pokemon’s HP by 1/8th (12.5) of their max HP each turn. Outside of battle your Pokemon will continue to lose health. Every 4 steps you take in the field, the Pokemon that is afflicted with poison will lose 1 HP until it faints. | Antidote or Full Heal |
Badly Poisoned (PSN) | This condition reduces the affected Pokemon’s HP by 1/16th (6.25%) of it’s max HP and adds another 1/16th (6.25%) each turn until your Pokemon faints. Outside of battle your Pokemon will continue to lose health. Every 4 steps you take in the field, the Pokemon that is afflicted with poison will lose 1 HP until it faints. | Antidote or Full Heal |
Paralysis (PAR) | This condition lowers the speed stat of the affected Pokemon by 25%. Additionally, the Pokemon might not attack 25% of the time. | Paralyze Heal or Full Heal |
Sleep (SLP) | This condition prevents a Pokemon from attacking for 1-7 turns. | Awakening or Full Heal |
Frozen (FRZ) | This condition prevents a Pokemon from attacking. | Ice Heal or Full Heal |
Confusion | This condition will cause a Pokemon to attack itself 50% of the time for 1-4 turns. | Switch Pokemon or use Full Heal |
