Route 8 is a straight shot from Lavender Town to Saffron City. Unfortunately, the gate to Saffron City will be closed, just like before. Walk west from Lavender Town to find two Pokemon Trainers near each other.

**Gambler**

To the west is a small patch of grass. This area is the only place on the route to catch wild Pokemon. Both sides are blocked off by trees, which means you’ll need a Pokemon that knows Cut to get through. Follow the road to the north to find another Trainer.

The path will lead west to four Trainers standing in a line. The Trainers and their Pokemon are listed below from top to bottom.

Continue along the path to the west until you find two more Trainers, but be very careful if you plan on doing the Mew glitch! Do not battle the Pokemon Trainer (Gambler) looking to the north! The Super Nerd looking to the east can be battled.

Again, the gate to the west will be blocked for now. Take the underground passage to reach Route 7. A few hidden items can be found along the passage.
