Connecting a controller to the SNES Classic (SNES Mini) can be confusing at first glance, but it’s actually very simple. Here’s how to do it!
When I unboxed my SNES Classic for the first time, I couldn’t figure out where to connect the controllers either. After fiddling around with the console for a few seconds, and worrying about breaking it this rare item, I found out how to connect a controller!
All you need to do to connect a controller to the SNES Classic is pop open the small plastic piece where the controllers would normally connect if the ports were real.
Opening the plastic piece at the front of the SNES mini will reveal two ports to plug in the SNES controllers. These are the same ports the Wii controllers use. Fun fact, you can use the SNES classic controllers on the Wii and Wii U to play virtual console games.
