Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s multiplayer and spec ops modes feature a large variety of equipment that can be unlocked by leveling up. All are split into either Lethal or Tactical equipment. Only one piece of Lethal and one piece of Tactical equipment is available per loadout. A second Lethal can be added with the Shrapnel Tier 3 Perk. Equipment can be replenished over 30 seconds with the Restock Tier 2 Perk, though Stim and Deploy Grenades will replenish within 15 seconds.
Lethal
Equipment | Unlocked | Description |
---|---|---|
Claymore | Lv1 | Proximity activated explosive mine. Explodes in a forward facing direction. Look for the red lasers pointing out the front of the Claymore. |
Frag Grenade | Lv1 | Cookable fragmentation grenade. Pay attention to the crosshairs for the grenade’s five second fuse. Once thrown, grenades can be picked up by the enemy and thrown back. |
Molotov Cocktail | Lv7 | Improvised incendiary device that explodes on impact, creating a small pool of fire. Running causes additional fire damage, but going prone stops fire damage. |
C4 | Lv25 | Large explosive that sticks to surfaces and can be detonated remotely with the lethal button. Double tapping reload on consoles or F on PC also detonates the explosives. |
Semtex | Lv32 | Timed sticky grenade with approximately a 3 second fuse. The Semtex cannot be cooked before throwing, nor can it be picked up and thrown back by others. |
Throwing Knife | Lv40 | Retrievable knife that can be thrown to quickly and quietly eliminate enemies. The knife can then be retrieved. Using the Scavenger Tier 1 Perk will replenish Throwing Knifes, but the Perk will not replenish any other Lethals. |
Proximity Mine | Lv43 | Proximity triggered explosive that deals heavy damage to vehicles. The Proximity Mine explodes in all directions, but can be dodged by quickly going prone. |
Thermite | Lv55 | Explosive which burns fiercely for a short time after impact. Sticks to surfaces. Running causes additional fire damage, but going prone stops fire damage. |
Tactical
Equipment | Unlocked | Description |
---|---|---|
Flash Grenade | Lv1 | Blinds and deafens targets for a few seconds depending on how close they were to the blast. The Battle Hardened Tier 3 Perk reduced the strength of this equipment. |
Stun Grenade | Lv1 | Slows the movement and aiming of combatants for a few seconds. The Battle Hardened Tier 3 Perk reduced the strength of this equipment. |
Smoke Grenade | Lv14 | Deploys a smoke screen that blocks vision. Thermal Optics will be able to see through the smoke. |
Snapshot Grenade | Lv20 | Temporarily highlights enemies within the blast radius for your squad. The Battle Hardened Tier 3 Perk makes combatants immune to this equipment. |
Heartbeat Sensor | Lv30 | A tablet that displays rough information about nearby enemies. Each ping takes approximately five seconds. |
Gas Grenade | Lv38 | Explodes on impact with the ground, releasing a lingering cloud of tear gas that causes slowed movement, blurred vision, and coughing. The Battle Hardened Tier 3 Perk reduced the strength of this equipment. |
Stim | Lv47 | Military stimulant that cauterizes combat wounds, instantly beginning health regeneration, and refreshes tactical sprint. |
Decoy Grenade | Lv50 | Counter Intel grenade that simulates fake gunfire and radar signatures that confuse the enemy. Throw this equipment just like a flashbang or stun grenade. |
