Lets talk movies as I continue with the Halloween Theme.
I’ve been buying a few scary movies in anticipation for October and Halloween. Believe it or not, my family never buys scary movies. We may see some at the movies, on TV, and we used to rent back in the day when people rented movies (not including Netflix). However, we never owned any scary movies! Well, I’ve been expanding my movie collection with new and old blu rays and DVDs. Here’s are some scary movies I bought that I really enjoy:
- Halloween
- Halloween II
- Halloween 4
- Halloween 5
- Halloween: 20 Years Later
- Scream
- Scream 2
- Scream 3
- The Grudge
- Paranormal Activity
- Paranormal Activity 2
- Paranormal Activity 3
It’s not a huge list, but I absolutely love those movies. Of course, I only find a few of them really scary; the others are more like classics. When it comes to true horror, I think Japanese horror movies are absolutely great. I do think it’s weird how US / English remakes of the Japanese horror movies always include the whitest of the white people, even if the locale is still in Japan! I’m not trying to be racist or anything, I’m just annoyed by that. Both the Grudge and Shutter are like that. I don’t remember The Ring all that much, but everyone keeps telling me to check out the original. I’ll probably be checking out the original Ring and Pulse in addition to the movies I listed.
Now, let me open this up to all my readers. What are some of your go to movies for the scary season?
